TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Salve! I am Magistra Reinmuller and this is my 9th year teaching. I currently teach all 4 levels of Latin at a Catholic school in the Milwaukee area. Prior to teaching high school I taught Latin 1 to middle schoolers in 7th and 8th grade. Most of my resources are catered to high school students, but some activites are left from my middle school days and would also work for that age group.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is very grammar and literacy focused. Many of my lessons in Latin 1 and 2 focus on having the students read, comprehend, and translate the Latin stories from the Cambridge series of books. Futher, I supplement their reading with direct teaching of the grammar concepts. To make all of this less intense, I use many different games and projects to make demonstrating their knoweldge and practicing the grammar mor exciting and fun. Futher, I infuse cultural concpets throughout each chapter and when possible, give them interactive projects relating to the culture. Latin 3 and 4 we move on to reading authentic latin, learning poetic devices, and learning about each poet's historical background and unique style.
