TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I completed my student teaching in 5th grade. I started my career in a kindergarten classroom for two years. I had to relocate due to my husband's job and now I am teaching third grade. I have been teaching third grade for the last 3 years and I LOVE it!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My philosophy on education is very simple, but I believe it with my whole heart. I believe that every child should be in an environment where they can learn to love and appreciate a good education. I believe that a classroom should be well organized and structured, so that every child has an opportunity to master the skills at hand. My classroom is full of hands on activities that are educational, so that students are having a great time, but they do not realize that they are learning. I truly enjoy creating interactive games that can be used for whole-group, centers and partner work to help my students master the skills that are needed.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am currently participating in the Teacher Advancement Program through my school. Last year I was ranked Highly Effective through my observations and student growth on the end of the year state assessment.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with my bachelors degree in elementary education from Southeastern Louisiana University. I began my college career in pursuit of a nursing degree because I wanted to help people. Instead I found my love for helping children in school, so they would learn to love and appreciate a good education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married and have two wonderful children. I enjoy being crafty and creative in every way possible.
