TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 14th year teaching high school math. I have taught Algebra 1(6 yrs), Algebra II (8 yrs), Geometry (6 yrs) and Computer Applications (8 yrs), PreCalc (4 yrs), and Calculus (1 yr). In addition, I taught middle school math during the summer, with an emphasis on fractions.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I traditionally follow the, "I Do, We Do, You Do" teaching style utilizing very structured note packets that I create. I also enjoy using review games and stations as a way to review material and prepare for tests and quizzes. I have also utilized a flipped classroom, where I record my notes to follow along with my guided notes packets. This allows us to do more win class review and activities. I encourage group work and students helping one another during homework time. I want them to take responsibility for their learning, and be able to explain their processes to one another.
