I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education 11 years ago. Soon after, I taught 4th and 5th grade for 2 years. I taught at a Title One school and experienced teaching in a classroom with children at multiple levels and children who came from multiple backgrounds. Eventually I became a homeschooling mom for our 3 children. I have been homeschooling them for 4 years.
A need that I soon discovered with teaching all three of our children in Homeschool preschool was, each had different needs that needed to be met in order to have access to the theme or content we were studying each week. For example, our theme one week was farm. For our number study all of our content was about farm. My youngest child was learning to count to 5 while my oldest was mastering counting to 20 (who was not in kindergarten yet). I wanted each child to feel successful as a learner, so I began creating lessons tailored to each child. My youngest counted 5 farm animals while my oldest practiced counting on ten frames. Creating all the content for 3 children on a budget was time consuming and hard work. I found that in order to provide all of my kids access to learning I had to spend a lot of my free time (which if you have kids you know that time is a luxury) planning and searching for lessons. Sometimes my kids would miss out because I just did not have the time to get everything ready for them. This became frustrating. Great intentions but not enough time. I felt like I failed them in some way. If I had trouble finding content for my kids then maybe other teachers/parents could benefit from my products that I was creating for them as well. My passion is creating lessons for multi-leveled classrooms(at home and at school). It allows a teacher or Homeschooler parent the ability to give children from multiple levels access to the same content without losing out on learning. Each child can feel successful. This is my intention behind creating 3 levels to purchase.
