I have been in education since 2008. I worked as a Para educator for a long time. In 2015, I got my first teaching job in a High needs, Medically Fragile room at my local Highschool. I am now a Resource Room teacher at a Elementary school.
I like to think I run best in an "organized chaos" type of environment. I do my best to keep myself organized, but allow my students to learn through hands on experience. I have a lot of experience working with students with behaviors and other disabilities and I think it is important to look at the "big picture" and to celebrate the little victories as they come.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Before I was a teacher, I was a lifeguard/ swim instructor. I still have those certifications and I am also certified to teach new lifeguards.
I am a wife and a mother of 3 beautiful daughters. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a bunch of chickens and ducks. We live about 45 minutes north of Seattle, Wa.
