Hello! My major passion in life is teaching and learning languages. I have been teaching languages to children, teenagers and adults for over ten years and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world! I am fully trilingual and I absolutely love learning languages myself. I continuously upcycle my teaching resources and upgrade them to be even more effective, efficient and fun. I also like to make sure that I am up-to-date with any changes in education and the teaching of MFL to provide my students with the best learning experience so they can achieve their full potential.
I believe that teaching languages should embrace a variety of methodologies as learning a new language involves the development of many skills, such as speaking, writing, reading, listening and conversational, grammatical and translation skills. Therefore, I like to use a communicative approach as it emphasizes the learner’s ability to communicate various functions, such as asking and answering questions, making requests, describing, narrating and comparing. However, I believe that grammar plays a pivotal role when learning a new language, especially for students from 7th to 12th grades, so I also develop grammar resources for them to use as revision and in lessons.
Yet to be added
I received my bachelors degree from Malaga University with distinction in MFL Pedagogy and English. At the beginning of my career I spent a few years teaching English and French in Spain, where I am originally from, which only helped to fan the flames of my passion for teaching. I moved to the United Kingdom in 2013 and I have been teaching Spanish and French ever since! I enjoy creating curriculum and resources for my classroom and conducting professional development sessions to help teachers around the world make their classrooms a more fun, effective and interactive place to teach.
When I’m not in the classroom, blogging and doing all the things teachers do, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
