Through a collaborative effort, my husband and I have developed materials for teachers and administrators based on our educational experiences. Our products are based on a dichotomous split of secondary and higher education. My experience primarily lies in K-12 education. I have spent the last 13 years teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science (both regular and Pre-AP level), Integrated Physics and Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics, and AP Environmental Science. In teaching multiple preps, I have honed my skills in creating activities that are engaging, material, and time-efficient with a focus on increasing student engagement. Critical thinking, collaboration, and an emphasis on science process skills are prevalent in the materials. I am also an educational consultant that has worked with the National Math and Science Initiative and conducted over 40 summer institutes trainings with a wide range of school districts across the country-training teachers to incorporate higher levels of rigor and STEM skills into Pre-AP courses. I began this year as an instructional coach and incorporate a desire to help teachers achieve a reflective understanding of student data and how to use it to guide student achievement. My husband’s experience is in undergraduate instruction of courses ranging from Biology I and II, Human A& P, Zoology and Botany. His focus is on changing the style and expectations of the student in college-level courses with the goal of creating more dynamic classes shifting the focus from teacher-led lectures to student-led learning through a variety of activities, discussions, and case studies while holding students accountable for a high level of rigor in the courses.

My teaching style is a student-centered, data driven classroom. I seek to engage students through relevant activities and projects while teaching the process and 21st century skills that they will need to compete in a global market.

I earned my Doctorate in Education in May 2015, and have my Bachelors and Masters in Biological Science. My husband earned his Doctorate in STEM Education, and earned his Bachelors in Zoology, and a Masters in Biological Sciences.
