TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my 10th year of teaching. I spent 8 years in 1st grade and will be starting my second year in 3rd grade. As you can tell, I'm a huge Potterhead! My classroom is Harry Potter and my kiddos absolutely love it!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Fun but educational

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated for teacher of the year in 2014-15! I am at a school with a staff of well over 50 people, so I was quite honored.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I got my bachelor's in teaching from UMSL and I graduated from Lindenwood University with my Master's in Education and I also have my reading certification through Lindenwood. After 2 master's degrees, I'm glad to be done with college . . . for now :)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married for almost 12 years to my wonderful husband Chris. We have a spunky son and a beautiful daughter, along with a wild and crazy dog named Bentley. My store name is because my maiden name wasn't spelled as, but was pronounced as "broccoli". When I got married, my last name changed to sounding like "watermelon". So my nickname is Mrs. Watermelon :)
