TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach general music at an Integrated Arts magnet school, and I have 27 years of experience with grades K-5.

MY TEACHING STYLE

When my students have fun, I have fun! Standards and learning targets are important, but we'll never reach them unless students are engaged and enjoying themselves. I pride myself on choosing songs and activities that grab kid's attention and make them forget how much they are learning! A typical lesson in my room includes singing, movement, listening, and instruments - all delivered with a quick pace and a good dose of creativity. When I can't find just the right song, Orff arrangement, or activity - I write my own! I hope you find my materials enjoyable and easy to incorporate into the great work you already do.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am honored to be the mother of three amazing children who teach me things everyday!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Music Education from UW-Eau Claire, Master of Education with an Emphasis in Music from Mount Mary College, Orff Level I & II certification

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I particularly enjoy writing short, catchy new tunes to fill a need I have in my classroom. Is there a certain topic you would like a song for? I may be able to create one for you!
