Learning with Lavender

I have been teaching for 7 years and I have enjoyed it so, so, so much. I have taught at two different schools and I have enjoyed teaching at both. I really feel that teaching is where I feel best and I am so glad I chose this career.

My teaching style is all about helping students feel that school is a place where they can learn, live and thrive. I NEVER give busy work and I only teach material that is important and relevant. I will NEVER give out a random packet. I try my best to teach engaging projects and include fun and educational projects and games. I try to tell my kiddos that tests are not everything. I try to help my kiddos feel comfortable taking tests and to have good study skills. I give out a moderate amount of homework, but I try to give minimal weekend homework because weekends are family, friends, and sports time. For classroom management, I reward good behavior with a prize box. When a child is having good behavior that I catch, I will tell them to put a sticker on their card. Once a child gets 5 stickers, they can choose a prize. I try to focus on the good and not the bad. I also try to compliment my kiddos when they are doing well. I love teaching and I think my kiddos enjoy being in my class.

I have achieved Latin and Math awards, and I was voted the most enjoyable teacher at my school.

I completed elementary, middle, high school, and college.
