I have taught in a private k-12 school in Montgomery, Alabama. I have taught levels 1-AP. Most of my students are in an honor track. I currently teach Spanish 2, 2 Honors, 3 Honors, and AP Spanish. I have traveled to seven different Spanish-speaking countries. Some of these were shorter trips while others, such as Panama, lasted a whole Summer.
I aim to teach at least 90% in the target language with a large focus on culture. I want my students to realize that Spanish is used in the real world and not just in their fifth period Spanish class at school. To accomplish this, we study countries in depth and students are asked to do a large amount of independent research about different parts of the Spanish-speaking world.

I attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and double majored in Spanish and Secondary Education. I also had an undergraduate degree in Latin American Studies. I recently attended an AP Spanish Language and Culture Conference as well.
I have been blessed to have traveled to many different Spanish speaking countries. I have driven through Patagonia in Chile and watched flamenco dancing in Spain. I have chaperoned a trip of high schoolers to Spain as well as spent a Summer living in rural Paraguay. I have fallen in love with Spanish speaking cultures and strive to share this love with my students as well.
