TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for 25 years. I have taught 9th-12th regular ELA, 9th and 10th PreAP (honors), AP Lit. and AP Lang., Creative Writing, and Mythology. I was also the adviser for my school's yearbook for 12 years. I had almost 20 years of yearbook experience total (including high school and college) and 12 years of advising experience. I am also an in-building mentor for new teachers and on the ELA curriculum guidance committee.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like cooperative learning, project based assessments, and guided reading. I use a feed-back and mastery model for grading. My personal belief is that students only improve if they revise their work. I allow unlimited revisions.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a divorced mother of two adult children and one little dog. I am an out of the closet nerd...a complete geek, too. I like sci-fi, fantasy, video games, paper and pencil RPGs, and board games. I run a Gamer's Club at my school and decorate my room in Star Wars and Dr. Who posters intermixed with philosophical quotes, flamingos, Wonder Woman, and student artwork. Being weird is a symptom of being awesome!
