I have 20 years of experience in public education teaching science, mostly at the Middle School level.
Science, at its core, is a convergence of discovery and creativity. That's what makes science so fun! Every student (and adult) enjoys discovering new things and being creative. Any student that thinks they don't like science has simply had a bad experience in a science class. My hope for each learner is to give them a fresh perspective of science that is exciting, meaningful, and fun.

Hi everyone, this is Joe from Land Loving Pirate Co. I am a 20-year veteran of teaching science to Middle School students, and have been building curriculum throughout my entire career. I am so thankful for the opportunity to offer you something that I did not have in my early days as an educator: a little bit of help. When first hired as a middle school science teacher many years ago, I was handed a textbook along with a binder of outdated activities on yellowed paper, and told that it was the curriculum. As a result, many of the best lessons ended up being those that I authored myself. If you are an educator, you can probably relate to my story. And, if you are on the Teachers Pay Teachers website, chances are that you are in a similar position, and looking for a little bit of help. Thank you for checking out these resources, and for giving me the opportunity to share an activity with your students!
