TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 15th year teaching K-6 general and vocal music. I have a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, with an emphasis in jazz trombone. I have my Masters from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio which is where I completed my Kodály levels I, II and III. I teach adjunct at the University level in the music education department at the University of Dayton.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that all children should be taught to read and write music, while making it fun and enjoyable. The majority of my lessons are Kodály-inspired. Music should be fun! "We should read music in the same way that an educated adult will read a book: in silence, but imagining the sound." -Kodály
