I have been teaching Kindergarten for 4 years at a Title 1 school in Tennessee. Teaching has brought me the highest joys while the politics often brings me the lowest lows. I'm proud of being a teacher and I am dedicated to my students success through hard work and determination.
My teaching style would have to be described as organized chaos! I believe that unless you are able to go where students need you to go, beyond the plans, you will never reach them. My students don't come from the best neighborhood nor do they have the most support but they have me! I am their mascot I cheer for their wins and encourage them after loss. I love my children because sometimes I'm the only person they think does.
My mentor always said "I don't want to win teacher of the year because its a popularity contest and if I'm worried about being popular I'm not thinking enough about teaching." I've never won teacher of the year......I'm proud of that!
I have a bachelors from APSU in Elementary Education and am currently working toward my Masters in Special Education from ASU. I spent two weeks at Bartending Schools of America and I've also taken the Financial Peace University Classes. Overall I'd say I have a well rounded education.
In addition to being a teacher I am also a mommy to the most incredible little boy named Kingston. He literally changed my life and makes me believe in all the positive energy in the world. I attempt to raise him in the most natural ways possible. I am a crunchy mom and so proud of it!
