I began my career teaching 5th grade Language Arts and Social Studies and then moved on to teaching 3rd grade self contained. I was an instructional coach at the district level and developed curriculum and instructional strategies for grades K-5. My strongest grade level experience is 2-5. I have a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and I am certified to be a principal in the great state of Texas.
I believe in creating a positive and fun learning environment for students. If students are engaged in a lesson, they are going to learn to their fullest potential.
I was nominated for teacher of the year for the 09-10 school year. Although I was not selected, this is still a huge honor for me.
I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensic Psychology. After entering the field of social work, I desperately wanted to become a teacher. I loved the school atmosphere and wanted to be part of it. I received my alternative certification through Region 20 in San Antonio, Texas and taught for 4 years before going back to school for my Masters degree in Educational Leadership. I graduated in December of 2011 with my Masters degree.
I have a great husband and two beautiful children I am currently a homeschool blogging mama. I love to swim, cook, write and read and I am a HUGE Dave Ramsey fan!
