TEACHING EXPERIENCE

For years I have been a "Gadget Girl." I love technology! Tie that to my teaching background and I have been able to interest, invigorate, and inspire children and teachers to use technology in a rich exciting manner. During my years as a classroom teacher I’ve taught preschool, first grade, second grade, fourth grade, sixth grade and three days of third grade (but that’s a story for another time!) At night I’ve taught adult education and Master’s level technology classes for teachers. For three years I was released from my classroom duties to provide staff development in the area of technology integration for the teachers within my own school district. And currently, I am an elementary media specialist and teach technology and information literacy to kindergarten through sixth graders. My passion is to help all people use technology in fun and engaging ways! All proceeds from my sales go towards funding college for my two teenage daughters!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a contructivist approach to teaching. I believe in the students taking ownership for their learning by providing them learning opportunities with meaningful projects.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

When I'm not busy writing curriculum for elementary classrooms, or teaching, then I'm busy with my own children. My girls are in 8th and 10th grade and play many sports; volleyball, basketball, and softball. All of these keep me sitting on the sidelines and cheering. When I'm not doing that, I do appreciate reading a great book, spending time with my significant other, Bill, and playing with my puppy, Pepper. Pepper brings hours of joy...plus, he never talks back and he's always glad to see me!
