TEACHING EXPERIENCE

 Whole Class Direct Instruction/Flexible Grouping in grades kindergarten, first, second, sixth in all subject areas. Between August 2012 and May 2013, increased student reading levels from 50% to 84% mastery (12% proficient and 72% advanced). In 2010-2011 school year, brought 2 Kindergarten students from Far Below Basic to Proficient.  Implement engaging, standards based, student-centered lessons employing SDAIE strategies and differentiated instruction to meet needs of all learners including CELDT levels 1-5, special needs, and GATE. Clear objectives, embedded CFUs, direct correlation to California State Standards, CCSS. Student-centered individualized goal setting and data chats raised 1st Grade Math proficiency for NS 2.1 (Addition, Subtraction within 20) from 60.77% in April 2012 to 94.86% in April 2012.  Awarded $3,000 Grant for Home-School Literacy: Selected to receive grant to purchase guided reading set. Designed and implemented after school home-school literacy “book club” intervention group for students in grades 1-2. 100% of first grade students in the program reached reading level proficiency in less than six weeks. MY TEACHING STYLE

Collaborates with education professionals to design standards based, rigorous educational units and corresponding lesson plans, differentiated for all learning styles and levels. Instrumental in data analysis and action plans to bring all students to grade level. Employs technology integration to encourage dynamic interactive learning. Fosters cooperative environment and character education. Employs SDAIE strategies throughout instruction to maximize ELD. Develops pacing guides, research based curriculum, RTI plans aligned to California State Standards, CCSS.
