I am a late comer to the field of education, having a background in the corporate world. I have been substitute teaching since 2007, both short and long-term positions. This has given me the opportunity to observe many teachers and styles of teaching. I get to see what works well and what doesn't well.
As I am in many different classrooms, I have to make quick connections with students in order to get them involved in learning. Letting them show me their full potential and expecting the best from them is key. A well-managed classroom run with kindness, a sense of humor, with a variety of book work and hands-on work with ways to differentiate learning works best for me.
