Judy Migliore

My teaching experience is quite diverse. Twenty-one years were in public school of which 18 were in a variety of special education settings. I taught from Kindergarten through 6th grades during those years. Then I retired and taught at a Catholic school for 2 years. Then, post Hurricane Katrina I returned to public school a high poverty school and have been there for the past 7 years and just love it.

I love making learning fun for my students and am quite accomplished at thinking on their level. I think that is why I had such success as a special ed teacher. I use centers with lots and lots of task cards and therefore my products on TpT are task cards. I also focus on differentiating for them, hence differentiated task cards.

I was named Special Ed teacher of the year by my peers.

My education was all completed at the University of New Orleans. I completed my BA in 1980 with a minor in Special Education. My M.Ed was completed in 1991 in Learning Disabilities. When I walked into the hall for graduation for my M.ED., the first person I met was my student teacher who was earning her BA the same night. That made it quite memorable for both of us.

I have been married for going on32 years. We have a 24 year old son who graduated this year from LSU and had only 1 week between graduating and starting a job. I am very proud of him and keep telling him how rare it is in this day and age that anyone finds a job so quickly after graduation. We also have a mixed breed black lab-looking dog with white areas that we adopted after Hurricane Katrina. He was found wandering outside of Baton Rouge as a young puppy and was to grow to be 20 - 30 pound. He is our 90 pound lap dog.
