TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a school counselor in a junior-senior high school for 16 years. I love being a school counselor! I also facilitate our cadet teaching program. I work at a small rural school, so I must be a jack-of-all trades. For fun, my family participates in Civil War Reenactments. I also teach dual credit Sociology and Social Problems for college credit.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I really enjoy working one-on-one with students and counseling with students. I enjoy working with students who struggle and who do not like school. I like to make learning active and fun.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Graduation each year is my shining moment. I love watching students graduate. I love knowing how hard some worked for the right to walk across that stage.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I started my career as a social worker and still maintain my clinical social work license. I work prn for a local hospital to keep my clinical skills active. I added on the school counseling license after working as a social worker in a school for 4 years.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I supervise both social work and school counseling interns for a nearby university.
