I just completed my 27th year teaching students with language-based learning differences, i.e. dyslexia. All my teaching experience has been implementing the principles of the Orton-Gillingham Approach. I also train teachers in Orton-Gillingham, which includes understanding the structure of the English language, and applying these principles in both small groups and classroom settings. I have presented at the state, regional, and national level at SCBIDA, Southeast Regional IDA, and Orton-Gillingham Academy conferences, as well as locally at schools, organizations, and civic clubs
