I have taught French Immersion for 20 years in Ontario (Richmond Hill for the YRDSB - Grade 7; Hamilton for the HWDSB - Grades 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 ; Toronto for the TDSB - Grades 2, 3, 4, 5) and Nova Scotia (Halifax for the HRSB - Grades 7, 8) at the elementary level and 1 year of teaching English to French Immersion students in Grades 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Teaching through movement, analogies, and visuals. I love staging plays and helping students feel confident and independent. I think it's important that students develop presentation skills so they're comfortable communicating or performing for their peers, other students, and parents. I like to constantly try new ideas and share my excitement with students as we learn concepts together. Highlights from my career were learning to knit and creating products to sell as part of entrepreneurship.
It's an everyday reward when students learn and progress. It's a reward when I learn something new or teach something more effectively than the year before, the A-HA moments.

I have a toddler at home. My, oh my, how a baby turns your life upside down and inside out, and makes you happy, crazy, and tired all at the same time. My son learns new things every day and I'm so lucky to be his mommy!
