Elementary School Teacher: Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, 5th Grade Curriculum: Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science Integration of arts and technology in the curriculum Designated and Integrated ELD Instruction
I set out to be an outstanding teacher so I can INSPIRE students when they walk in my classroom. They drive me to be the best I can, because they deserve that. Integrating current ideas into my classroom is important to me. I drive my instruction to meet the needs of the individual students by creating lessons that are creative and engaging. I am continuously finding ideas to integrate technology into the classroom, to help build 21st Century skills, as well as create lessons that are cross-curricular and up-to-date with current ideas. Knowing the Needs of all my students is also very important. It is my job to teach to the whole child so everyone can be successful. I believe each student learns differently but I need to know who the student is, so they can be successful learners. I start the year off by getting to know my students, what they enjoy, and who they are. I spend time talking with the parents and including them, thus giving me an idea of how to meet the needs of all my students. Parents continue to be open with me, and know I have an open-door policy. Each student has their own learning goals, so they can be successful. I create a classroom where each of my students feels Safe. As a classroom community, I think it is important to come up with rules together, encourage students to guide their own learning, be reflective learners, and create lifelong learning skills that will prepare them for the future, and upcoming academic years. I create where all students can feel safe and included to contribute to our classroom environment without negative criticism. I work towards Preparing my students for the upcoming challenges they will face as they grow older. I have conversations with my students about college, their grades, and how to handle demanding situations they face. We talk about conflicts that may arise, and how they can prepare to handle any tricky situation. I teach my students to be Independent and responsible learners. I want them to be independent learners where they take pride in their own learning and push them to research ideas that foster their learning and interest them. I encourage them to tackle their learning in tough times, and I am there to assist them. My Relationship with my students and parents is my top priority. I ask about their daily life, and share my life with them as well. Furthermore, it is important to me that parents are happy with the learning that is taking place in our class. Every student in my class is Equal and deserves the best education. I am an open-minded teacher who accepts all students and ensures equity. I embrace all students for who they are, no matter what race, gender identity, beliefs, or culture they possess. Every smile or excitement I see in my students, reminds me, that is what makes this profession so rewarding! I get to INSPIRE kids and make a difference in this world.
