TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been in the educational field for over 20 years. Two of those years were in Preschool and twelve in Kindergarten. I am currently a Readers' Theater Specialist. Being a Specialist, I serve Kindergarten through Fifth grade. My love has always been ELA and I'm pretty theatrical so this position is the perfect fit! My students act out plays and everyone has the opportunity to read, as I provide audience parts. This gives them a purpose for reading and keeps them engaged. We also have extensions where we write,create, play ELA games, and have reading fluency centers with a host of activities that promote reading growth. Another passion that I have is tutoring elementary school students. It's great fun!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style would best be described as collaborative. I encourage discussion, creativity, and problem solving. I enjoy seeing confidence grow and it inspires me in return. I'm passionate and want to ensure that all students reach and exceed their potential. It's not always the case, but not from lack of trying.
