By I hunger for Learning I am a new educator who specializes in Math and Sciences, but also has experience teaching English Literature, English Language Learning, and Theatre/Drama. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in theatre and music. I have taught in several countries, including Canada, England, Spain, New Zealand, and China. Additionally, I have worked as a campus tutor, helping college and university students with their essays and precis. I am certified by Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, and have attended various pedagogy workshops, with a focus on diversity.
As an educator with extensive experience both in and out of the classroom, I have developed a comprehensive philosophy of education and learning, which embodies a three-pronged approach. Firstly, I strive to create an atmosphere of meaningful engagement, where students are encouraged to actively participate and take ownership of their learning experience. Secondly, I place great emphasis on promoting equity and just learning for all learners, recognizing the unique needs and backgrounds of each individual, and ensuring that they have equal access to the resources and opportunities necessary to succeed. Lastly, I am dedicated to instilling a sense of inspiration that fosters a lifelong curiosity for self-improvement, encouraging students to pursue knowledge and growth beyond the classroom.
