I have worked as an Elementary teacher for over 12 years. I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. I was promoted to Team Lead 3 years ago, and will be starting my 4th year as a Team Leader. I have recently began to create my own handout, assessments, etc! So I thought I would give this Teachers Pay Teachers thing a try! Who knows, maybe this can be the beginning of something new!
I believe in allowing children to be involved as much as possible in the assessment process. My overall goal for my students is for them to independently self-assess with minimum teacher assistance. Assessments does not always mean, sitting at the back table with your clipboard, and individually calling each student to the back table, one at a time. While passing out the other students as many worksheets as possible to keep them busy, lol! (lets be honest we have down all done it) Assessments can be fun....use technology to help you. Anything that can be done with pen and paper can be done on a MP3 player, PowerPoint, Video, etc. Students can Video themselves completing the assessment in fun and engaging ways!!!!!
