TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been homeschooling for 3 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is based upon my children and what works best for them, our state requirements, their interests, and their learning pace. We use the Montessori educational method, plus a modified version of Sue Patrick's workbox system.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

When you homeschool for the first time, you are always worried that your child may not be learning what they should, you may not be a good teacher, and you may simply not be doing enough for your child. My shining teacher moment was receiving lots of praise from the teacher who accessed my son's portfolio and stating a huge progress he made during the year I homeschooled him. It further validated that choosing to homeschool was a great decision.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated High School, then studied Elementary Education for two years, before deciding to homeschool my own children. I am now working towards a degree in Child Development.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a wife and homeschooling mom to three boys, ages 9, 6, and 1. In my spare time I love to read and write. We live with our two black labs in a small village in West Virginia.
