I taught for 9 years at a high needs school in New York City: I taught Kindergarten for 5 years in a dual language program, and first grade for 4 years in an ICT setting. I was grade leader for 8.5 years, leading teacher teams to analyze student work and best practices to improve instruction. I continue my work as Educational Director of a private preschool near my home. I lead weekly professional development workshops with teachers, and conduct cycles of observation, reflection and goal setting with them. Additionally, as a Common Core Fellow for the NYC Department of Education for 3 years, I received in depth professional development on the Common Core Learning Standards and analyzed teacher and vendor created instructional materials for alignment. As a facilitator for a year long course on implementation of Go Math! through the NYC Department of Education, I supported coaches and teachers working to take their instruction of Go Math! to the next level.
