For the last six years I have taught Latin and AP Art History at Loyola Academy in Illinois. I am currently teaching Latin I, Latin III Honors, and AP Art History. I have also taught Latin II (honors and regular tracks). Before Loyola Academy I taught Humanities and Art Appreciation at a Chicago-area community college for a little over two years. Lastly, after and during graduate school, I tutored, substituted, and taught summer school all in Latin at The University of Chicago Laboratory School.
My classroom is student-centered. My students often collaborate, explore their curiosities, and have fun. They are challenged to investigate and learn the material in creative ways. As a whole class, we work through our struggles and celebrate our successes. Overall, beyond Latin and Art History, my students develop critical life skills, such as teamwork, organization, and problem-solving.
