Megan Cantrill is co-founder of Harmonia For Kids and has a passion for developing quality curriculum materials. As a teacher, she knows how important it is for educators to have access to resources that are reasonably priced, can be immediately incorporated into the classroom, and are adaptable to different learning styles and ability levels. Megan is also the owner of Firefly Training and Consulting and works with hundreds of teachers each year, sharing her excitement for engaging, student-centered classrooms. She has presented five times at the annual conference for the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children, twice at the Texas Early Childhood Learning Summit, and at many local and regional conferences and events. She also served as Adjunct Faculty at Central Texas College, supporting the professional development of pre-service teachers in the Child Development department through online classes. Megan has extensive experience in education starting with ten years teaching public school Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten in the Marble Falls and Burnet school districts. She then served as the founding Director of Hill Country Fellowship Preschool from 2010-2019 which enrolled nearly 130 children year-round. She created the curriculum framework for the program and hired, trained, and supervised 25 teachers and assistant teachers.
"Young children are naturally curious about the world around them and learn best when caring adults provide opportunities for engaging, hands-on learning."
Megan was selected Educator of the Year for Burnet Elementary by peers for 2009-2010 school year. She also served on the Student Success Team which assisted teachers in finding ways to meet the needs of all students in the classroom. While at the Marble Falls ISD, Megan was a participant in Rural Central Texas TEEM Grant through Region 13 for 2007-2008 school year to improve literacy education in early childhood using research based instruction and assessment. She also served on the District Educational Improvement Committee to collaborate with other school personnel, parents, and community members on issues such as district goals, school calendar, and parent surveys.
