TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an Upward Bound adviser for over a decade. I work with high school students (and sometimes do workshops with middle school students) to help prepare them for college. This includes career and college research, soft skills, counseling, group activities, and tutoring.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Mine is more of a counseling style. I have found that the more I am excited, smile, and laugh the more the students are receptive to whatever activity we are doing. I also believe that really listening to what they need and helping them find ways to meet that need or reach that goal are very important.
