Currently, we are living in FRANCE! We met in France and always dreamed of spending an extended period of time here with our children. This 2022-23 school year is it! We post periodically on IG & FB if you're curious what we're experiencing.
Combined, we have over 25 years of teaching French in public schools in the US. We have each taught 8th-12th grade, beginner to advanced students. We also have experience teaching at the preschool and college levels.
Jason is a certified International Baccalaureate (IB) teacher of French and his students have consistently performed strongly on their exams. Andi had the wonderful opportunity to teach English to French high school students in Forges-Les-Eaux (Rouen region) for a school year.
We are French teachers back in the US with different teaching styles, yet our students have been successful in each of our classrooms.
Words to describe Jason's teaching style include immersive, heavy on oral communication, interactive, motivating, and methodical.
Words to describe Andi's teaching style would be interactive, organized, efficient, motivating, having high expectations, and kinesthetic.
Currently, Andi is teaching English to university students in France.
Honors and awards to us are personal. For us, it is an honor to travel with students and see them successfully use their French in native settings, such as France.
Also, it is rewarding to receive a note from a student thanking us for teaching him/her French or catching us up on life after high school with French. To learn a student is pursuing French after teaching him/her is a remarkable gift.
Professionally, we have both been labeled “highly effective” based on our respective school’s evaluation systems.
Jason: Both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in French
Andi: Bachelor’s in Secondary Education (French & English) and Master’s degree in Secondary Education with emphasis in French
The French language is what brought us together. We met in Angers, France as we were both working on our Master’s degrees during an immersive summer with other American high school teachers of French. We met and the next year we were married.
We then settled into teaching French at neighboring high schools in Indiana, but we moved to France in August 2022. French is the language of love, n’est-ce pas?
