TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching American History since 2014 in Durham, North Carolina. I have a Masters in the Arts of Teaching degree from Duke University and went to undergrad at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have taught several different levels of American History but all of my classes focus on developing writing and critical reading skills. I incorporate many primary source documents in a way that scaffolds the material and skills for students. Additionally, we work on writing analytically throughout the year, focusing on creating a strong thesis and supporting it with evidence and examples.
