TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an educator for thirteen years, teaching middle school mathematics.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My own fear of failure while trying to understand mathematics as an adolescent has led me to become the kind of math teacher that I am today. Math was never my forte in middle school or high school, and I feel I will always have a connection with struggling learners because of that. I search for and find a way to make things clear. I know what it takes because I needed more, as a student, in order to understand. My materials are made for kids and teachers who feel like they are trying to move a mountain together.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am honored to be influencing the leaders of tomorrow.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies at The University of Memphis

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I had a math teacher in high school who was able to break away the confusion surrounding mathematics and reduce the fear I had associated with math for so long. I pattern myself after the methods that brought me personal success in math.
