Fairy Tales and FingerPaint

I have been teaching within an Early Childhood setting since my college graduation in 2004. In 2013, I began teaching in my current district within Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten classrooms. I am at home in my Pre-K classroom and I am so glad to have spent more than a decade in this space!

I am a firm believer of having a play based education. Every day should be a fun and exciting space for young children to move, play, and show their love of learning. Children are not meant to be still and quiet, so our classrooms should be energetic learning spaces full of music, games, and play!

I have presented at a National Conference guiding others on how to create high quality work with early childhood students. I have received an Excellence in Teaching award within my district for the work done with my team on this topic as well.

A little bit about my personal life, I am married to a man I have been with for over half my life! We met in college, survived his military service together, and have been married since 2006. We have two amazing children together. Our daughter Gabi is a spitfire who will lead a major corporation, and our son Eli is a sweet, sensitive soul who brings out the good in everyone he meets. We also added our dog, Wrigley, to the family in the summer of 2022. I love reading and creating crafts I found on Pinterest as well as doing things to update our home!
