I began my teaching career just a few months after my College graduation from the University of Delaware, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, a second licensure in Middle School English, and a Minor in Disability Studies. I was then hired as a 5th grade Literacy and Social Studies teacher and was in that role for 4 years. I continued to further my education at Georgian Court University. Here, I received my Master’s Degree in Education and a Reading Specialist License, after which I was hired and still work as the school's 4th, 5th and 6th grade Reading Interventionist.
The three words I would use to describe my teaching style is: innovative, engaging, and reflective. I love to utilize technology and keep up with the latest educational trends so that I can incorporate new ideas into my classroom. Keeping learning FUN is one of my biggest goals, so I am always looking for creative ways to engage my students while learning. Lastly, I understand the importance of reflecting upon my teaching, lessons, style, values, strengths/weaknesses, etc. I also encourage constant reflection amongst my students. Upholding this reflective mindset helps to keep my teaching fresh and up-to-date!
