I am an aerospace engineering graduate of Texas A&M University. I spent 12 years in industry working on projects such as the International Space Station and the AH-64D Longbow Apache helicopter before changing careers and becoming a teacher. I taught new hires & created a new hire training program. Now I teach Algebra 2 in Humble ISD!
My classes start with a warm-up. I will introduce the concept & work 2-3 problems, while asking them questions. Then I have student do 1-2 "on your own" problems & we check the answers. I finish the notes & we summarize it together. I give students 10-15 minutes to start the assignment & ask questions in class. This year we are doing a flipped classroom. Students will watch a video the night before & get the beginning of the notes. I will answer questions & provide 2-3 more examples or on your own problems. Then we have time for activities based on real world scenarios.
