Welcome to "Science is Magic!". I am a high school science teacher and have been teaching since 1998! I absolutely love what I do and am excited to share things that work in the classroom with you! I also have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and am a Doctoral Candidate, also in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Teacher Education.
I like routine so I always start each class period with a warm-up and agenda so we all know the plan for that block. The actual content will vary day to day--lots of phenomena to get us hooked and started, engaging video clips, demonstrations, quick bits of notes mixed in, lots of group and class discussion and sharing out. We use a lot of technology as well: Peardeck, Google Apps, Videos, Edpuzzles, Virtual labs, video presentations, online games and quizzes, etc. Lots of group work from presentations, posters, shared documents, to labs, and teaching one another. My classroom is rarely quiet and boring!
.
I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and am a doctoral student in the area of Curriculum and Instruction.
