In the spring of 2012, I student taught 11th grade British literature at a rural high school in Pennsylvania. I worked as a substitute teacher from the fall of 2012-fall 2016. During this time, I added several certifications to my certificate and performed long term positions in English, Family and Consumer Science, and Library Science. I used my time as a substitute to design many question guides to accompany popular books for which there weren't many resources. In the fall of 2016, I was hired to teach 12th grade English.
I favor both direct and indirect teaching styles. Many of my lessons have students performing a task or searching for information on their own instead of me "telling" them what they need to know.
4.0 GPA
I attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania from Fall 2008- Spring 2012. I majored in Secondary English Education and completed a minor in History. In November 2012, I added a Family and Consumer Science certification to my repertoire. In May 2013, I added Library Science to my certificate.
I live a quiet life with my husband of 8 years and 2 children. When I'm not subbing or designing lessons, I like to craft! I love my Cricut machine! I scrapbook, make cards, and crochet mainly, but I'm pretty much up for any crafty business.
