I've taught and worked in multiple grade levels in both elementary and middle school, though most of my experience is in 3rd grade!
I center my classrooms around relationships: peer relationships for my students, as well as teacher-student relationships. I also center my classrooms around independence and inquiry. My goal is for my students to feel ownership of their learning and a desire to always ask questions to learn more.
"You've taught him that he CAN! You've taught him that different doesn't mean deficient and I don't know how to thank you for that." This text from a student's mother will stay with me for life. Nothing means more to me as a teacher than knowing I've helped make a difference in the life of a student. That's what it's all about.

I am a National Park enthusiast! I've been to 37 of our beautiful parks and my very first classroom theme was national parks! I enjoy taking photos of the majestic scenes found in these parks and hope to continue exploring the ones I've yet to visit! I've lived in Georgia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Massachusetts! I'm always up for new adventures in new places!
