TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello fellow educator! I am proud to share that I have been a teacher for over 10 years. I started my teaching career in theater and drama for grades K-8. I also transitioned into the classroom as a Social Studies teacher for 2 years for grades 6-8. The past 5 years have been my absolute favorite though- teaching ELA for grades 6-8. It is so wonderful and fun to prepare young minds for a lifetime of reading and writing.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Having a background in theater has really helped shape the style of learning I provide for my students. I absolutely love and believe in movement, collaboration, and kinesthetic learning. I love to bring music (re-written popular songs by yours truly), pneumonic devices, and rotating activities to my classroom daily. I think it is so important for young minds to experience rigor in a way that can engage them. I am also incredibly organized, a master of paperwork sorting, and I hold the bar of expectation high for ALL of my students.
