TEACHING EXPERIENCE

TpT provides a forum to share my classroom experience. As an educational consultant, leading the challenge through special education administration, and working as a college professor, my experience provides the opportunity to share my collective knowledge. My expertise is in behavior management, behavioral analysis, diagnostic evaluations, behavioral change planning, co-teaching, inclusion, data collection, IEP development, progress monitoring, collaboration, and transition planning. I also teach English to second language learners.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a behaviorist by training, I also support cognitive and constructive teaching. I bring the practice of effective inclusion practices and the applications of co-teaching, cooperative learning, and technology integration to the classroom. As a behaviorist, I am a strong proponent of research-based practices and progress monitoring. I teach college in the traditional format, accelerated format, and online. I also teach online instruction to students learning English as a second language.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have received honors from the state department of education, my school district, and the college where I teach special education teachers preparation courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have published journal articles on topics of progress monitoring, classroom management, and program planning for students with disabilities. I have researched topics that include early intervention programs, inclusionary practices, and behavioral approaches. I have received awards as an outstanding college professor, and advisor. I am a member of two peer-reviewed education journals.
