25 years in education: 10 years as an elementary classroom teacher (I have taught kindergarten, first grade, third grade and fourth grade), 15 years as a K-5 reading and language arts coordinator, 5 years as an environmental educator (along with my reading coordinator position), professional development leader, literacy consultant to several school districts in Illinois.
I love to have kids think about the world around them and the role they play in it. I teach environmental concepts within the context of engaging and creative stories, poetry, games, and activities. I want to have kids excited about learning and making the world a better place!
I was given the honor of writing a section in a professional book that my superintendent authored. My portion was about literacy and good reading instruction.
