Early Brilliance with Miss Emily

I have been a Pre-Kindergarten teacher in a MN public school district since 2017. I hold dual licenses in Early Childhood (birth to 3rd grade) and Early Childhood Special Education (birth to 7 years old).

Preschool is a precious window in which we prepare children to love learning for a lifetime. For us to effectively do so, we support them in every way and meet their individual needs. Each child in a single classroom comes with different experiences: their understandings of relationships, their self concepts, and their developmental levels can vary wildly. My goal is to create resources to support every individual need--from supporting those who come to us with the greatest struggles, to those who are constantly in need of a challenge. Also, learning needs to be FUN! In preschool, we play. We play in learning centers, we play outside, we play games, all while gaining experience in crucial pre-academic and social-emotional skills. I believe that every interaction or activity in a preschool setting needs to be engaging, inclusive, and playful.
