TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Elementary School Teacher 2001- Present English Language Development Teacher 2011-2012

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a collaborative educator with a solid work ethic and enthusiasm to keep students engaged. I quickly assimilate newly adopted curricula and technology, and I strive to make lessons relevant to students. I also believe in seeking out opportunities to attend educational conferences and professional development to improve my teaching practice. I have a special place in my heart for students who are English Language Learners. I constantly keep in mind that each student is an individual, with different life experiences and prior knowledge...and that there is not a level playing field.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I decided to become an educator because I wanted to be a positive influence in the lives of others. In teaching, communication is key...not only with the students, but with parents, coworkers, and administrators. Though difficult at times, teaching is more rewarding than I can ever express in words.
