Since 2015, I have worked in a variety of self-contained classroom settings. Recent and proficient experience includes: special education classrooms for students with learning disabilities, autism, mild-severe intellectual disabilities, complex communication needs, and multiple disabilities.
My motto is "less is more". Many of my students benefit from visually simple, repetitive, clear worksheets and adaptive books. I like to keep my resources plain with few distractions. In my experience, students with complex needs are often frustrated with visually busy resources and greatly benefit from a 'less is more' approach.
