I've been a special educator for 13 years and I continue to love my job! I'm also a single mom of a 21 yr old son with severe cerebral palsy - so I have lots of experience thinking outside the box when it comes to teaching. Boom Cards have been an amazing find for me. My son and students love them and I love making them!
I'm dedicated to getting through to my students. I realize that all teachers strive to do that, however, my young students with varying special needs require a lot of "out-of-the-box" thinking when it comes to teaching them new skills. Maybe they need a personal schedule. Maybe they need heavy visuals. Maybe they need extra hands-on practice. Maybe all they need is something extra to motivate them to learn. Whatever it is, I'm going to find out what it is.
