I have derived my teaching style from various internships, experiences, and opportunities as well as through exploration and education about various ideologies. While I do not believe in just one method or ideology, I believe in taking what works for you and your classroom. Each class will have a range of different personalities and needs, and not every strategy works for every child. Educators must be flexible and adapt their teaching style to the situation and their class.

I essentially became a caretaker at 10 years old when my mom had my little brother. Following his birth came my little sister and youngest brother. I have two older sisters, each with 4 children, and many close younger cousins. I have been surrounded by children my entire life. They are my world! My siblings are like my own as are my nieces and nephews. After years of infertility and beginning IVF, my husband and I (kindergarten sweethearts) finally received our own little miracle in July 2023 <3 I am passionate about child development, effective education, and providing resources to children, families, and educators. I also have a firm belief that educators should be treated like people and not as bodies to fill a classroom. I have worked in 3 centers and interned in others, and one thing I see the most are issues with staff retention and treatment. The spectrum ranges widely between under appreciation, cliquey behavior, and allowance of "lazy" or "inappropriate" employees. The lack of available staff forces many centers to hire as soon as they can, simply filling positions with "bodies" rather than hiring educators for their skills. While Massachusetts has kinder ratios than other states, increasing developmental delays, needs, and behavioral challenges make it harder for educators daily with little support. Parents and families lack the education to identify red flags, and not all educators receive the education (or experience) to identify them either. Negative stigma surrounding getting help for one's children scares families into not advocating for their children. Issues with communication (which are everywhere) result in difficulty working effectively, lack of appropriate training, and fast burnout. Having been an employee under various administration, I aim to be the administration that I always wanted to have and needed. Understanding with staff. There for help as needed. Believing there are no "dumb" questions and focusing on positivity and appreciation. There is so much reform needed in Early Education and Care. If I can help by providing resources for families and educators, as well as trainings and templates for educators, then I will have at least helped to take a step in the right direction.
