TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for close to 10 years (all of which in public schools). I have spent a majority of that time teaching Pre-Kindergarten, but have also taught grades 1-5.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is characterized by a student-centered approach that fosters a supportive and inclusive learning environment. I prioritize restorative practices, focusing on building positive relationships, resolving conflicts, and promoting empathy and accountability among your students. By embracing equitable rigor, I ensure that every student receives challenging and intellectually stimulating learning experiences while acknowledging and addressing their individual needs and backgrounds. Through this holistic approach, you empower your students to take an active role in their education, cultivating critical thinking, collaboration, and self-directed exploration, and fostering a sense of belonging and academic growth in your classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I sit on several committees within my school district including; building leadership teams, school safety teams, district wide professional development, and others. I was nominated for Teacher of the Year in the 2022-2023 school year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I am a proud graduate of SUNY Cortland where I received a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I quickly went on to graduate from SUNY Oneonta with a Masters of Education (M.Ed) in Literacy Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have spent most of my life in upstate New York! I enjoy spending summers at the lake and trying new things. I love spending time with friends, and my favorite place to be is the beach. I can't learn enough and am always interested in hearing new points of view and learning more about my craft.
